Job summary

Steamatic is hiring Restoration Technicians in Ballarat and Horsham. The role offers full-time and casual positions with hands-on training and varied projects across residential, commercial and insurance work. You will handle water damage, mould remediation, fire and smoke restoration, and operate specialist drying equipment.

No two days are the same, and the team provides ongoing training, career progression, and support from a national company.

• Contents cleaning and restoration
• Furniture moving and pack-outs
• Minor demolition and removal of damaged materials
• Using hand and power tools
• Photographing and recording site information
• Completing digital job reports, SWMS and risk assessments
• Collaborating with builders, assessors, insurers and other trades
• Communicating with customers during the restoration process

We’re looking for Restoration Technicians to join our growing Ballarat and Horsham teams.

You could be extracting water from a flooded home one day, working on a fire-damaged commercial building the next, carrying out mould remediation, setting up specialist drying equipment or helping restore a property after a major event.

This is not a desk job – and no two days are the same.

Previous restoration experience is not essential. We’re more interested in finding people with the right attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

What Does a Restoration Technician Do?

You’ll be part of the team that responds when homes and businesses are damaged by flooding, water leaks, fire, smoke, mould and other unexpected events.

Your work may include:

• Emergency flood and water damage response
• Water extraction and structural drying
• Installing air movers, dehumidifiers and specialist drying equipment
• Moisture testing and monitoring
• Fire, smoke and soot cleaning
• Mould remediation
• Carpet and upholstery cleaning
• Contents cleaning and restoration
• Furniture moving and property pack-outs
• Minor demolition and removal of damaged materials
• Using hand and power tools
• Taking photos and recording site information
• Completing digital job reports, SWMS and risk assessments
• Working alongside builders, assessors, insurers and other trades
• Communicating with customers during the restoration process

What You'll Need

You must have:

• Current Australian driver's licence
• Ability to pass a National Police Check
• Willingness and eligibility to obtain Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP)
• Ability to perform physical and manual work
• Flexibility to travel throughout Ballarat, Horsham and regional Victoria when required
