Job summary

Private Advertiser in Adelaide seeks a hands-on Shift Supervisor to lead the floor team, serve guests, and ensure smooth service across shifts. This role offers a clear pathway to Assistant or Restaurant Manager and is ideal for a senior waiter or bartender moving into leadership.

You will run shifts, coach staff, manage bookings, handle POS and stock, and uphold RSA, food safety, and WHS standards in a busy restaurant setting.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years in restaurant or hospitality; some team leadership preferred.
  • Current South Australian RSA certificate required.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Strong communication skills and calm under pressure.
  • Confident with POS systems and cash handling.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Run shifts from opening to close, leading pre-service briefings and coordinating the floor, bar and kitchen
  • Work hands-on alongside the team, serving guests, running drinks and supporting the floor during quiet periods
  • Allocate sections and breaks, coach staff and help train new starters
  • Look after guests, manage bookings and table flow, and resolve complaints on the spot
  • Handle POS, cash-ups and end-of-shift reporting, and check deliveries and stock
  • Uphold responsible service of alcohol, food safety and work health and safety standards

Job description

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you'll lead the floor team on each shift, keep service running smoothly and take charge when the manager is off site. This is a hands-on supervisory role: we expect you to serve guests and support the team during quiet periods, not just direct from the sidelines. It's a great next step for a senior waiter or bartender ready to move into leadership, with a clear pathway to Assistant or Restaurant Manager.

About you

Bonus: food safety and allergen training, First Aid, rostering or booking software, wine and beverage knowledge
