Job summary

Rising Sun Inn in Kensington, SA 5068 is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead dining operations, from front-of-house service to back-of-house coordination, in a full-time role.

You will drive operational excellence, maintain high standards of service, manage staff, budgets and promotions, and create a welcoming environment for guests.

The successful candidate will oversee reservations, health and safety compliance, and ensure consistent guest satisfaction, while supporting the team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or senior hospitality manager in a busy establishment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with staff development.
• Excellent customer service and delivery of dining experiences.
• RSA certification or willingness to obtain within first month.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations including table management, reservation systems, social media, CRM communications, and customer seating arrangements
• Manage front-of-house and back-of-house staff, including recruiting, training, weekly rostering, scheduling and performance management
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality customer service and address guest concerns promptly and professionally, including online reviews
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards and licensing requirements
• Control food and beverage costs through inventory management, menu analysis and waste reduction initiatives
• Manage the restaurant budget, track financial performance and identify opportunities for revenue growth
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food preparation and presentation
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness, ambiance and presentation standards at all times
• Handle administrative duties including payroll, staff records, incident reporting and regulatory documentation
• Develop and implement promotional activities and customer loyalty programmes

About the role

Rising Sun Inn is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our dining operations in Kensington, SA 5068. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to manage all aspects of our restaurant, from front-of-house service and customer experience to back-of-house coordination and staff management. As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining high standards of service, and creating a welcoming environment for our guests. What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar senior hospitality management role, preferably within a busy, multi-service establishment


• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff


• Excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences


• In-depth knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including menu knowledge and wine service


• Proficiency in restaurant management software, point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications


• Sound understanding of food safety, health and hygiene regulations relevant to hospitality operations


• Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs and maximise profitability


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers and external stakeholders


• Problem-solving abilities and resilience under pressure, particularly during peak service times


• Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment
