Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure efficient service.

SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager on behalf of our client, a popular hospitality venue located in Brighton, South Australia.

Offering a relaxed and welcoming dining environment, the venue serves a diverse range of freshly prepared meals and provides a popular destination for local residents and visitors. With a strong focus on quality food, friendly service and customer satisfaction, the venue requires a hands‑on Restaurant Manager to oversee its day‑to‑day operations and support the continued success of the business.

Location – Brighton, South Australia 5048

Salary - $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

Employment Type - Full-time, Permanent

THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to lead a friendly and dynamic hospitality team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy, customer-focused environment where you will be responsible for coordinating daily restaurant operations, managing staff and maintaining consistently high standards of food, service and customer experience.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and organisational skills, a hands‑on management approach and the ability to effectively manage the operational and financial requirements of a busy hospitality venue.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Oversee and coordinate daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficient and professional food and beverage service.
  • Manage, supervise and support front‑of‑house staff, including rostering, allocation of duties, training and performance management.
  • Monitor service standards and work closely with kitchen staff to maintain consistent food quality, presentation and timely service.
  • Manage customer enquiries, feedback and complaints, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience for all patrons.
  • Monitor stock and inventory levels, coordinate ordering and liaise with suppliers to maintain appropriate supplies.
  • Monitor restaurant operating costs, stock usage and labour requirements to assist in maintaining budgets and profitability.
  • Assist with menu planning, pricing, promotions and other initiatives to respond to customer preferences and business requirements.
  • Coordinate bookings, table arrangements and service requirements to maximise efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain appropriate restaurant records, including staff rosters, stock records, operational documentation and financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant food safety, hygiene, responsible service, workplace health and safety and operational requirements.
  • Promote a positive and professional workplace culture through effective leadership, communication and teamwork.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management or related discipline (or agreed equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a comparable hospitality management position.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of a busy café, restaurant or similar hospitality venue.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising, training, rostering and supporting hospitality staff.
  • Experience managing stock, inventory, supplier relationships and ordering requirements.
  • Sound understanding of restaurant budgets, labour costs, stock control and operational cost management.
  • Strong customer service skills with experience professionally resolving customer enquiries, feedback and complaints.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain organised in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as required.
WHAT IS ON OFFER:
  • A competitive salary of $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum.
