Upper Hunter Shire Council is seeking a Resource Recovery Operator based in Aberdeen to operate and maintain plant and equipment at the Aberdeen Waste Management Facility. You will support weighbridge operations, assist customers, and help maintain a safe, clean site while contributing to recycling and resource recovery initiatives.

This permanent full‑time role offers a true 38‑hour week, with overtime opportunities, generous leave, and career development through training.

Formación

• Relevant plant competency certificates, or sufficient practical experience demonstrating competency to obtain the required certification.
• A current unrestricted driver’s licence.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to manage challenging customer interactions professionally.
• Ability to operate or learn Council’s weighbridge systems, including computerised transactions, payment handling and general administrative duties.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently, effectively manage competing priorities and maintain a safe working environment.
• A commitment to safe plant operation, environmental compliance, waste management and resource recovery practices.
