Job summary

InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach is seeking a part-time Reservations Agent to handle inquiries via phone, fax and email and convert to sales. You’ll work across InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach and Holiday Inn Sydney Potts Point, collaborating with Sales, Front Office and Guest Services to maximise guest satisfaction and revenue.

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to collaborate with departments on groups/projects.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts – Coogee NSW

The spectacular InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach has opened following a multi-million-dollar transformation and set to redefine coastal luxury. Perfectly positioned on Sydney’s iconic beachfront, the reimagined hotel offers 198 elegantly designed rooms and suites, many with uninterrupted ocean views, alongside an infinity pool, luxury cabanas, and a vibrant leisure deck.

About the role

As Reservations Agent, you’ll be responsible for all reservations activities such as recording and processing all reservation inquiries made by phone, fax or email and converting to sales where possible to meet hotel targets. You’ll work closely with other Hotel departments such as Sales & Marketing and Front Office to ensure a positive delivery of guest experience.

This is a cluster position, you will support and be based in the offices of both InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach and from Holiday Inn Sydney Potts Point.

The responsibilities of this role may include but will not be limited to the following;

• Assist guests with reservation enquiries from all channels, while identifying opportunities to upsell and maximise revenue
• Ensure efficiency and accuracy in all personalised guest interactions, specifically acknowledging IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests
• Meet targets for converting sales
• Assisting with various commercial administrative procedures ensuring our front of house operations teams are equipped to deliver memorable guest experiences
• Be responsible for providing prompt, courteous and efficient handling of all requests for guest reservations, changes and cancellations
• Assist with the management of internal reservations systems to ensure guest experience is maximised and yield management opportunities are leveraged.
• Work collaboratively and creatively with our Sales & Marketing, Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage teams to ensure a seamless arrival experience and to maximise opportunities for a positive guest experience
• Manage a range of guests and clientele such as corporate, groups, travel agents and leisure

What we need from you

You must have unrestricted, long term work rights in Australia (sponsorship is not possible)

You must be flexible and available at least two days per week and be able to work on Saturdays at least twice a month.

• Minimum 6-12 months Hotel Front Office and/or Reservations experience
• Qualifications in Hotel Management and/or Hospitality related field preferred
• Proficiency in Opera Cloud or similar Reservations Systems; and integrated Point of Sale and channel management systems is highly regarded
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and conflict resolution. Fluency in English, while bilingual or multilingual would also be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent stakeholder management, ability to collaborate effectively with departments on groups and projects
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workflow and workload individually and across the team. Assist with other duties as required
