Job summary

Kids Research Institute Australia in Perth is seeking a Research Assistant to support a multidisciplinary program focused on pediatric respiratory health. You will participate in participant recruitment, data collection, and study administration, contributing to all stages of the research process.

The role is primarily clinical and participant-facing with occasional laboratory duties, based at Perth Children’s Hospital, Nedlands, for an initial 2-year period. Full-time with hybrid options.

The Opportunity

The Foundationsof Lung Disease Team has anexciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join our multidisciplinaryresearch program based at Perth Children's Hospital. Our team investigates lunggrowth and development through infancy, childhood, adolescence and earlyadulthood across both health and disease. We bring together clinicalresearchers, epidemiologists, statisticians and laboratory scientists to improve respiratory health outcomes for children and young people.

In this role, you will support a range ofclinical research studies investigating respiratory health and disease acrosschildhood and adolescence. Working closely with researchers, clinicians andstudy participants, you will contribute to all stages of the research process,including participant recruitment, respiratory assessments, data collection,database management and research administration.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, screen and schedule participants for research studies.
• Conduct respiratory and lung function assessments.
• Collect clinical and physiological data using questionnaires and approved research tools.
• Collect and process biological sample.
• Support ethics submissions, literature reviews and research outputs, including presentations and manuscripts.

This position is primarily clinical and participant-facing, withoccasional laboratory-related duties as required. Based at Perth Children'sHospital in Nedlands, this full-time position will be offered for an initial 2-yearperiod.

The salary range for the roleis $78,000 - $88,000 (depending on experience) + Super.

About You

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Science, Health Sciences,or a related discipline. You will also demonstrate:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people and families.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate research records.
• A high level of attention to detail and commitment to data quality, participant safety and research integrity.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative multidisciplinary research team.

Desirable: Experience in clinical research,participant recruitment, lung function testing, biological sample collection,or research database management. Training will be provided for study-specificprocedures.
