Job summary

The Kids Research Institute Australia is seeking a Community Involvement Officer to coordinate community involvement activities across the Institute, working with the Community Involvement Coordinator, researchers and advisory groups to enable consumer and community contribution to research and initiatives.

The role is based at our offices in Perth Children’s Hospital, part-time 0.5 FTE, and will involve engagement programs, events, and advisory activities while building strong relationships

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or experience in community engagement, public health or a related field.
• Experience building strong relationships with community members, stakeholders or researchers.
• Proven ability to coordinate projects, programs, events or engagement activities.
• Understanding of consumer and community involvement principles and best practice.
• Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.

The Opportunity

The Community Engagement Team, within the Partnerships andEngagement Portfolio at The Kids Research Institute Australia works to ensurethe voices of consumers, families, young people and communities are embeddedacross the Institute's research and decision-making. The team partners withresearchers and stakeholders to create embed opportunities for communityinvolvement, helping to improve the quality, relevance and impact of childhealth research.

As a Community Involvement Officer, you will play a key role incoordinating community involvement activities across the Institute. Workingclosely with the Community Involvement Coordinator, researchers and advisorygroups, you will support engagement programs, community networks, events andadvisory activities that enable consumers and community members to activelycontribute to research and organisational initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate community involvement across research and Institute initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with consumers, families, communities and researchers.
• Recruit, onboard and support community members in advisory and research activities.
• Deliver community events, workshops, training and engagement activities.
• Support advisory groups, reporting, evaluation and continuous improvement programs.

About You
