Job summary

Proquest Recruitment & Training seeks an HR Consultant to provide specialist HR advisory services to clients across Australia. The role focuses on complex employee relations, performance management and compliance, with support from an experienced ER/IR team.

You will work as part of a national network, delivering practical, commercially sensible HR advice and navigating legislative obligations to help businesses make defensible decisions.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of Australian HR experience in an advisory/partner role.
• Experience managing complex employee performance matters and misconduct.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation including the Fair Work Act.
• Ability to coach managers through difficult conversations with procedural fairness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on performance concerns and developing improvement plans.
• Supporting clients through misconduct, disciplinary meetings and terminations.
• Guiding managers through difficult employee conversations balancing fairness and outcomes.
• Providing clear, accurate HR documentation and correspondence.
• Building trusted client relationships and acting as a reliable HR contact.
• Collaborating with the wider team and sharing knowledge when needed.
