Auto & General is seeking Desktop Home Assessors to manage end-to-end insured home claims, focusing on cause, scope and cost, while delivering high-standard customer service. You’ll coordinate with restorers and suppliers to ensure repairs meet quality and price expectations.

You will virtually assess damage, scope repairs, and negotiate outcomes, supporting vulnerable customers and maintaining regulatory alignment. A&G emphasises growth, wellbeing, and community involvement in Australia.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing quality building work and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Background in reviewing and determining accurate scopes of work.
• Demonstrated communication, negotiation & conflict resolution handling ability, along with exceptional time management & organisational skills.
• Proven experience in building effective business relationships with all stakeholders.
• Insurance experience is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assess the damage by virtually reviewing reports and photos to validate claimed event-related damage and repair costs.
• Identify damage causation and apply the PDS for appropriate levels of cover; provide justified decision recommendations.
• Manage claim risks and prepare suitable contingencies, ensuring site safety and correctly authorising emergency (make safe) work.
• Handle complaints and identify vulnerable/high care customers; escalate where required.
• Produce detailed damage scope and cost documentation and review against supplier quotes.
• Engage specialists and industry experts as required to align repair methodology with PDS coverage.
• Negotiate with repairers and customers to determine sustainable repair costs; approve work commencements and settlements.
• Project manage repairs to meet cost, time, and quality standards; conduct virtual inspections and liaise with suppliers.
• Identify and report repair defects, manage rectifications, and report service breaches.
• Review and approve repair invoices for payment at milestones or completion.
