Job summary

Affirm in Australia is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Manager to lead the Australian regulatory program for consumer credit and related financial services. You will translate global compliance strategy into local execution while meeting Australian licensing obligations and ASIC guidance.

This remote-friendly role collaborates with Product, Legal, Credit, Marketing, Privacy and Engineering to deliver responsible lending, governance, and strong consumer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of regulatory compliance experience in an Australian regulated financial services, consumer credit, payments, or fintech environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian consumer credit and conduct regulation, ASIC expectations, Australian credit licensing, responsible lending, product governance, complaints and breach-reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated people leadership and ability to drive program execution.
• Experience leading regulatory change, obligations management, compliance monitoring and testing, breach and reportable-situations processes, complaints oversight, regulatory reporting, and remediation programs.

Responsibilities

• Own and oversee the Australian regulatory compliance framework for consumer credit and related financial services.
• Maintain documented compliance arrangements and keep pace with regulatory change, including BNPL rules.
• Lead ASIC examinations, inquiries, information requests, licence interactions and supervisory engagements.
• Oversee regulatory notifications and reporting, including licensing updates and filings.
• Maintain the Australian regulatory obligations register and risk assessment with clear ownership and controls.
• Set remediation priorities and oversee root-cause analysis and consumer remediation.
• Monitor metrics and risk indicators across lending, governance, complaints, and disclosures.
• Assess incidents and elevate material regulatory risks through governance channels.
