Job summary

The Department of Government Services in Melbourne is seeking a Governance and Risk Management professional to provide specialist advice on licensing, compliance and risk controls within Regulatory Transaction Services.

Reporting to the RTS Operations Manager, you will lead Regulatory Advisers, handle escalated matters, and contribute to continuous improvement across licensing, registration and not-for-profit services for Victorians and businesses.

Qualifications

• Degree or significant experience in business, accounting, auditing and/or law.
• Expertise in applying legislation and operational policy to complex service delivery scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Administer and provide specialist advice on licensing and registration matters.
• Lead a team of Regulatory Advisers to ensure high-quality, timely outputs.
• Draft clear briefings and advice on complex issues for stakeholders.
• Collaborate across departments to improve service delivery and regulatory priorities.
• Engage with stakeholders to negotiate timelines and deliver outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records in licensing databases and document management systems.
• Support other functions with process improvements and governance insights.
