Job summary

Residential Gardens seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in an education-focused role across the home. You will mentor staff, deliver mandatory and targeted education, and support quality improvement within aged care.

The ideal candidate has AHPRA registration, at least five years in residential aged care, and a TAE certificate or willingness to obtain. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve resident care and safety.

Qualifications

• Current RN with AHPRA registration is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential aged care.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or willingness to obtain.
• Additional qualifications in aged care, leadership or clinical education are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and facilitate mandatory and targeted education sessions for staff.
• Provide bedside coaching, mentoring and competency support to clinical and care staff.
• Deliver education in response to identified risks and service needs.
• Assist with onboarding, orientation and competency assessments of new staff.
• Support evaluation of education through competency assessments, audits and practice monitoring.
• Maintain accurate education records and documentation.
• Communicate with managers regarding staff progress and education requirements.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team in an education-focused role. The successful applicant will work across the home to provide education to aged care staff. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN who is looking to step up, enjoys mentoring others, promoting best practice, and contributing to continuous quality improvement within aged care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and facilitate mandatory and targeted education sessions for staff.
• Provide bedside coaching, mentoring and competency support to clinical and care staff.
• Deliver education in response to identified risks and emerging service needs.
• Assist with onboarding, orientation and competency assessments of new staff.
• Support the evaluation of education through competency assessments, audits and monitoring of practice.
• Maintain accurate education records and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with managers regarding staff progress, competency outcomes and education requirements.
• Support the Education Team.
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Minimum 5 years' experience working in residential aged care.
• Sound knowledge of the Aged Care Act 2024, Aged Care Rules 2025, Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, SIRS and Clinical Governance principles.
• Demonstrated experience in educating, coaching and supporting staff in the workplace.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Microsoft Teams.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or willingness to obtain.
• Additional qualifications or professional development in aged care, leadership, dementia care, wound care, infection prevention and control, or clinical education.
