Job summary

CHEP seeks a Senior Procurement Manager, Timber AMETA, based in Sydney, to lead a major regional timber sourcing program across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. You will oversee a small team and work with senior stakeholders to balance commercial performance with sustainability and supply security.

You’ll translate global Blue Forest goals into practical regional actions, negotiate strategic supplier contracts, and drive cost efficiencies while shaping regional sourcing

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of procurement teams in manufacturing or technical environments.
• Experience sourcing timber or related construction materials.
• Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities.
• Ability to model costs and identify savings opportunities.
• Demonstrated stakeholder engagement across regions.
• Hands-on, curious mindset with understanding of manufacturing cost drivers.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional timber sourcing strategy across AMETA.
• Build and manage supplier relationships, contracts and performance.
• Identify cost-improvement opportunities and manage risks.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance and Sustainability.
• Develop two procurement team members across Australia and South Africa.
• Support sustainability goals in the supply network.
• Translate global Blue Forest strategy into regional actions.
