Job summary

CHEP Australia, based in Sydney, is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Timber Procurement – AMETA. You will lead the timber sourcing strategy across AMETA, drive supplier partnerships, and align with global Blue Forest goals while balancing cost, supply security, and sustainability.

Based in Sydney with hybrid remote flexibility, you will develop two procurement team members across Australia and South Africa, engage with senior stakeholders, and shape regional procurement priorities to support

Qualifications

• Experience in direct procurement within manufacturing/technical environments.
• Experience sourcing timber, forestry, building materials or similar.
• Strong commercial capability including negotiation, contracts and cost modelling.
• Ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term supply planning and risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead the regional timber sourcing strategy across AMETA, translating global Blue Forest strategy into practical solutions.
• Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships, including negotiations, contracts, performance and new sources of supply.
• Understand manufacturing processes and cost drivers to identify opportunities for cost improvement and risk management; deliver regional Opex/Capex targets.
• Lead and develop two procurement team members across Australia and South Africa; coach and drive adoption of new procurement approaches.
• Support sustainability ambitions by aligning supply network with forest restoration and conservation goals.
