Job summary

Knight Frank Australia’s national retail team is seeking a Retail Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, presentation, and tenant engagement for a portfolio of shopping centres across Newcastle, Port Stephens and Hunter region.

The role requires a NSW Real Estate Certificate of Registration (or willingness to obtain) with proven retail or property management experience. We offer a people-first culture, two extra weeks of leave, wellness days, and your birthday off.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Real Estate Certificate of Registration or willingness to obtain (with our support).
• Proven experience in retail or property management, ideally across multi-site portfolios.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Excellent organisational and administrative ability to manage high-volume tasks and deadlines.
• Familiarity with tenancy systems and compliance processes; Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily retail and tenancy management across multiple centres, ensuring compliance and presentation standards.
• Act as the primary contact for tenants, resolving queries promptly and building strong relationships.
• Coordinate lease administration, compliance tasks (insurances, bank guarantees), and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor rental and control arrears, including issuing arrears letters to tenants.
• Support marketing initiatives, retailer engagement, and trading analysis to drive performance.
• Assist in co-ordinating casual mall leasing activities.
• Partner with facilities and portfolio managers to deliver seamless operations and meet KPIs.
