Job summary

UGL Regional Linx seeks a Track and Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership across corridor access engineering activities within the NSW CRN. You will support projects with engineers, planners, government agencies, developers, local councils, and industry partners to ensure safe, practical outcomes for the network and communities served.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred).
• Strong technical and engineering assessment skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience coordinating or influencing multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborative mindset with a commitment to safe, sustainable outcomes.
• Strong organisational, systems, and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistent, high-quality engineering outcomes for Corridor Access activities.
• Provide technical advice and assurance for third‑party works, development applications, corridor access proposals, property activities, and related projects.
• Review engineering proposals against CRN standards and asset management principles, applying sound judgement to identify and manage safety and operational risks.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary assessments involving track, civil, structural, signalling, telecommunications, geotechnical, maintenance, and operational stakeholders.
• Assessing Heavy Vehicle applications with the support of the Heavy Vehicle Coordinator and Structures Engineer.
• Collaborate with applicants, designers, utilities, councils, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and develop practical, safe solutions.
• Provide clear engineering advice and recommendations that support informed decision‑making.
• Continuous improvement across systems, processes, templates, and engineering practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining safety, compliance, and asset integrity.
