Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking an experienced Regional Coordinator to provide confidential and efficient managerial and administrative support to the Director (Northern) and to coordinate regional programs across Townsville and surrounding regions.

You will lead a work group, develop a skilled team within a service delivery framework, manage issues and complaints with timely responses, and prepare correspondence, briefs and reports in line with departmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a work group, building a motivated and skilled team through a service delivery framework covering business operations, quality service and resource management to meet client needs.
  • Provide and coordinate confidential, efficient managerial and administrative support to the Director (Northern) across regional functions and programmes.
  • Manage issues and complaints, coordinating timely responses from Product Centre Managers where appropriate.
  • Oversee ongoing regional activities as required, including security, regional building and maintenance programmes, and the preparation and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans.
  • Research, analyse and prepare, or coordinate the timely preparation of, correspondence, briefs and reports, ensuring compliance with departmental standards and timeframes.
  • Coordinate and support the effective delivery of projects and actions at a regional level, including: Undertaking special projects relating to regional business, administration or service delivery.
  • Preparing and coordinating information for meetings and committees, distributing papers and following up actions.
  • Monitoring progress and reporting to the Director (Northern) on projects and action items.
  • Collaboratively developing and managing goals, targets and performance standards proactively supervising all aspects of staff performance management, including recruitment and selection, appraisal and development, ethical behaviour and decision-making providing a safe and healthy workplace by managing resources to ensure compliance with work health and safety and employee rehabilitation legislation, codes of practice, standards, departmental policy and procedures, including risk management and corrective action programmes.

Are you an experienced administrative leader ready to make a meaningful impact across regional programs? We are seeking a dynamic Regional Coordinator to provide confidential and efficient managerial and administrative support to the Director (Northern).

About Your Opportunity

As a key member of the team, you will research, analyse and develop plans and options to address a range of issues relating to the Director (Northern)'s area of responsibility. You will also liaise with and facilitate interaction between the Director (Northern) and key stakeholders across the Department, relevant agencies and the community.

As The Regional Coordinator, You Will

As required by regional arrangements, ensure efficient, effective and client-focused services are delivered by regional administrative support staff, including:
