Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Support Worker in Mount Isa to provide compassionate, community-focused care for participants. You will be a welcoming point of contact, assist in daily programs, and support participants to work toward personal goals within our care framework.

You will collaborate with the team to address needs, promote recovery goals, and ensure a safe, respectful environment for all participants in a dynamic community setting.

Qualifications

• Certificate/diploma level qualification required or equivalent industry experience.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Blue Card (Working with Children Check) required for Mt Isa/Townsville roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, responsive first point of contact for participants.
• Identify and help prevent potential high-risk situations with senior team members.
• Facilitate daily programs and information sessions for participants.
• Offer information, guidance and support tailored to participant needs.
• Support participants to implement their individual plans and goals.
