Job summary

Workfast is seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Officer to join a leading steel manufacturer. This role offers ongoing, full-time hours with an immediate start and a stable pipeline of work.

You will inspect and record deliveries, check dockets, read product specs, and ensure safe, accurate handling of steel products. A forklift LF licence and strong attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately read delivery documentation.
• Experience reading and interpreting delivery dockets and product specs.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic data entry and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, inspecting, identifying and recording customer steel products.
• Checking delivery dockets and purchase orders against goods received.
• Inspecting incoming products for damage, contamination, rust, paint, and overall suitability.
• Measuring and verifying product descriptions and quantities.
• Preparing and attaching identification and special instruction tags to materials.
• Accurately recording receiving information into the site's 'Visual Shop' system.
• Reporting damaged or non-conforming items to the Supervisor and communicating with customers.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised receiving area.

What you need

• Previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics or steel fabrication
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately read delivery documentation
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A current Forklift (LF) licence and proven experience handling steel products
• Full PPE (long sleeve hi-vis, steel caps, hard hat, and safety glasses)
• Strong work ethic and a commitment to workplace safety
