Job summary

Workfast is currently seeking motivated Factory Labourers to join our client’s global industrial coatings operations team in Hexham, NSW. This role offers an afternoon shift with strong overtime potential and a clear path for progression within a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

You will assist in galvanising and protective coatings processes, ensuring steel products are prepared and finished to high industrial standards, with reliable transport and a valid Australian working rights

Qualifications

• Experience in a production, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Able to perform repetitive manual handling tasks.
• Forklift LF or overhead crane experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Must have full Australian working rights.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload steel products onto jigs and racks for galvanising.
• Prepare steel surfaces by removing scale, rust and debris.
• Post-coating finishing, including grinding and filing to remove excess zinc or burrs.
• Conduct visual quality inspections to ensure AS/NZS compliance.
• Assist with wiring and unwiring of steel components.
• Maintain a clean and organised production floor to prevent hazards.
• Work with the production team to meet daily output targets.
• Record production data and report material defects to supervisors.
• Participate in safety meetings and support a zero-harm culture.

Factory Labourer - Afternoon Shift - Approx $1,500 per week

Workfast is currently seeking motivated and reliable Factory Labourers to join our client’s global industrial coatings operations team in Hexham, NSW.

Pay Rate: $38.01 per hour (Afternoon shift rate) + OT penalties and Superannuation
Shifts Available: Afternoon Shift: 2:0pm 10:00pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Hexham, NSW

You’ll be responsible for assisting in the galvanising and protective coating process, ensuring steel products are prepared, treated, and finished to the highest industrial standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a hardworking, safety-conscious individual to join a global leader in infrastructure finishes and metal coatings. We currently have a high volume of work, meaning there is plenty of overtime on offer for those looking to maximise their earnings.

What you need

• Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual handling tasks
• Must have drivers license and reliable transportation
• Proficiency with hand and power tools (e.g., grinders, files, and cleaning equipment)
• Strong commitment to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) protocols
• High attention to detail to ensure quality finishes on all steel products
• Reliable transport to ensure consistent shift starts in Girraween
• Forklift Licence (LF) or Overhead Crane experience is highly regarded but not essential
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test
• Full Australian working rights
