Job summary

UGL is delivering significant rail infrastructure in Australia and seeks a Project Engineer for the Logan Gold Coast Faster Rail project. You will coordinate design, procurement and construction elements, ensure safety and quality, and drive milestones with a strong focus on collaboration with the ActivUs Alliance.

You will lead on-site teams, manage interfaces with subcontractors, and maintain comprehensive project documentation while reporting progress and risks to the Senior Project Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Project Engineer within Rail Systems, ideally with track experience.
• Ability to lead on-site teams and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop quantity take-offs, maintain scope and change register
• Monitor key construction requirements and implement corrective action if required, to ensure specifications
• Managing subcontractors and suppliers work
• Managing the verification of conformance for works under control
• Maintaining all relevant project document control and records
• Managing works design and ensuring all relevant approvals are obtained
• Undertake monthly forecasting including accruals, quantity take-offs, forecasting and reporting
• Leading construction teams, supervisors, and subcontractors to achieve daily project objectives
