Job summary

UGL is delivering major rail infrastructure in Queensland and seeks an OHLE Project Engineer to support the Logan Gold Coast Faster Rail project. You will coordinate design, construction and commissioning activities, ensuring safety, compliance and timely delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 4+ years of OHLE experience, and Rail Industry Worker competencies. Engage with suppliers, contractors and internal teams to drive quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years OHLE project engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Rail Industry Worker competencies.
• Experience applying engineering principles to comply with Project Specific Technical Requirements (PSTR).
• Commercial experience planning up to 4 weeks ahead and weekly cost/time reporting.
• Development of SHEQ processes and management of others in SHEQ procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review OHLE design drawings, models and technical specs.
• Prepare and update OHLE documentation (work packs, technical queries).
• Coordinate with design teams, site engineers and contractors.
• Attend daily site/project coordination meetings.
• Monitor OHLE construction activities for standards and drawings.
• Conduct site inspections for quality, clearances and mast/structure placements.
• Review safe work procedures and construction methodologies.
• Respond to RFIs and escalate complex issues to senior engineers.
• Support energisation readiness, testing and commissioning planning.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers’ work and conformance verifications.
• Manage temporary works design and approvals.
• Manage short-term programme up to 2 months.
