Job summary

Metro Trains Sydney (MTS) is seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineer to safeguard assets that support safe, reliable train and station operations. Working with the Principal Engineer, you’ll combine technical expertise with practical asset management to improve performance and address maintenance challenges.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mechanical and electrical services in rail or construction.
• Experience with maintenance planning and condition monitoring to improve reliability.
• Knowledge of fire safety compliance and testing controls.

Responsibilities

• Support asset strategies, maintenance plans and asset registers for Building and Tunnel Services.
• Monitor asset condition and performance; investigate failures and develop remedial actions.
• Support compliance for electrical installations, essential fire safety measures, lifts, escalators, HVAC tunnel ventilation, hydraulics and BMS.
• Provide input into network expansion, improvement and maintenance projects; assist with requirements, scope reviews and defect close out.
• Collaborate with internal teams and service providers on maintenance delivery and spare parts strategies.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and escalate safety concerns.
• Contribute to engineering instructions, reporting and continuous improvement while supporting safety and environmental requirements.
