Job summary

SMEC (An SJ Group Company) in Sydney seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and deliver LV/HV, earthing and bonding for rail projects across Australia. The role includes producing drawings, reports and tender packages from concept through construction, with a focus on safety, quality and schedule.

You will review designs, perform feasibility studies and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery across a national footprint.

Qualifications

• Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification and professional registration progress.
• 6+ years of industry experience in electrical design for rail/transport.
• Experience producing detailed electrical design documentation for rail projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian codes and safety processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver lighting, LV/HV, earthing and bonding for rail projects.
• Produce drawings, reports, specifications and tender packages.
• Conduct feasibility studies, load calculations and site inspections.
• Review electrical designs to meet client and SMEC standards.
• Prepare engineering reports and tender proposals.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure quality and timely deliverables.
