Job summary

Sydney Metro is seeking a Senior Manager Engineering to lead design assurance across multiple rail disciplines, ensuring compliant and sound technical solutions for projects from design through to operations and maintenance.

You will coordinate specialists, respond to board requests, and drive governance across the lifecycle. Tertiary engineering qualifications and a proven leadership track record in rail are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in an engineering design management role supporting multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in a rail environment.
• Experience delivering compliant and sound technical solutions across civil, structures, track and electrical disciplines.
• Proven ability to coordinate engineering specialists and respond to project, enterprise and board requests.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a focus on team development and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering management to respond to Project, Enterprise and Board requests and prepare papers and reports.
• Coordinate engineering specialists to respond to project requests, developing scoping briefs, programs and cost estimates.
• Support Metro Operations through effective coordination of engineers for defect management and issue resolution.
• Contribute to the development of governance processes and engineering systems across the lifecycle, including operations.
• Guide and deliver technical outcomes by applying railway engineering knowledge with multi-disciplinary teams.
