Job summary

JBS Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Advisor to lead a portfolio of Queensland workers' compensation claims and drive safe return-to-work outcomes. You will provide technical guidance, coach Claims Advisors and collaborate with injured workers, clinicians, and leaders to manage complex matters from lodgement through finalisation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing Queensland workers compensation claims, including complex matters.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland workers compensation legislation and self-insurance requirements.
• Experience determining liability and finalising claims.
• Strong rehabilitation and return-to-work capability.
• Ability to coach and provide technical guidance to other claims professionals.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Sound judgement and ability to communicate difficult decisions.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Queensland workers compensation claims from lodgement to finalisation.
• Make liability decisions and develop strategies for complex and sensitive claims.
• Partner with injured workers, leaders, treating practitioners and rehabilitation providers to achieve safe and sustainable return to work outcomes.
• Develop and review tailored rehabilitation and return-to-work strategies.
• Review and authorise claim payments and entitlements.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to Claims Advisors.
• Assist with complex claim reviews and team workflow priorities.
• Build trusted relationships across Operations, People & Culture, medical providers, rehabilitation providers and legal representatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve claim quality, processes and the overall customer experience.
• Support compliance with Queensland workers compensation legislation and self-insurance requirements.
