Job summary

HR Partners in Victoria, Australia is seeking an experienced Quarry Operator to lead from the front, splitting time between operating heavy mobile plant and coordinating site activities.

You will operate front end loaders, excavators, dozers, and haul trucks, load sales vehicles, assist with earthworks, and ensure safety and compliance across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume quarry environment.
• RIIMPO national competencies (or equivalent) for Front End Loader, Excavator, Haul Truck.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment quarry medical assessment, including respiratory surveillance and a drug and alcohol screen.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to zero-harm environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-tonnage heavy mobile plant ( loaders, excavators, dozers).
• Load sales area trucks, manage stockpiles and feed processing hoppers.
• Assist with site earthworks, overburden removal and pit operations.
• Perform mandatory pre-start inspections and report faults promptly.
• Promote safety, health, and environmental policies on site.

Work Type: Monday to Friday (Overtime and Saturdays as required)

About the Role

Are you an experienced Quarry Operator ready to step up, lead from the front, and drive site productivity? We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused mobile plant operator to join our supportive, dynamic team.

This is a dynamic, multi-skilled role where you will split your time between operating high-tonnage heavy mobile plant and serving as a critical link between site management and the crew. You will operate the crucial sales loading area, haul materials, assist with site earthworks.

Heavy Plant Operation: Proficiently operate large production machinery, including Front End Loaders, Excavators, Dozers, and Rigid / Articulated Haul Trucks.

Sales Loading & Material Handling: Efficiently load road transport trucks in the sales area, manage stockpiles, feed processing hoppers, and safely haul materials across the site.

Site Earthworks & Pit Operations: Utilize excavators and dozers for overburden removal, pit maintenance, bench clearing, and stock management.

Maintenance & Compliance: Conduct thorough, mandatory pre-start inspections on machinery and report any faults immediately.

Safety & Environment: Actively promote and adhere to rigid health, safety, and environmental site policies, ensuring a zero-harm environment for your entire team.

What We Are Looking For

Proven Experience: A solid background working in a high-volume quarry environment, with specific experience in high-pressure sales loading and general pit operations.

Valid Tickets: Mandatory RIIMPO national competencies (or equivalent) for:

Front End Loader Ticket

Excavator Ticket

Rigid / Articulated Haul Truck Ticket

Safety First Mindset: A proactive, positive attitude toward safety policies, risk assessments, and pit floor compliance.

Fit-for-Work: Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment quarry medical assessment, including respiratory surveillance (spirometry) and a drug and alcohol screen.
