Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory, part of the SunPork Group, is seeking a Production Planner for our fresh requirements onsite in Kingaroy. You will coordinate production planning, forecasting, and dispatch across the SunPork operations team to align with demand and capacity.

Reporting to the Senior Production Planner, you will develop daily, weekly, and long-term schedules, prepare reports, and support launches and seasonal events.

• Must be motivated, self-driven and can work and contribute to a team environment.
• The ability to adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
• Attention to detail and time management skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Produce daily, weekly, and long-term production schedules for fresh requirements.
• Communicate production needs, supply status, surplus, and customer feedback promptly.
• Maintain boning forecast (raw material availability).
• Coordinate with teams on launches, seasonal events and holidays.
• Provide daily production and carcase schedules to stakeholders.
• Coordinate boning of livestock for the appropriate market.
• Generate detailed daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Production Planner to join our team for our Fresh requirements onsite.

Reporting to the Senior Production Planner, this position is responsible for the effective planning of SunPorks fresh requirements, in line with our supply, sales demand, and production capacities. The role ensures the successful forecasting, coordination, planning, and dispatching of SunPorks production through working closely with the SunPork Commercial Operations team and the facilities production team.

Key Duties of the role include:

• Be responsible for production scheduling for all fresh requirements which includes:
  • Daily, weekly, and long-term production schedules.
  • Provide communication on production requirements/product supply/surplus production/production shortalls/customer feedback and compliance to specification in a timely manner
  • Maintain and be responsible for SunPorks boning forecast (raw material availability)
  • Work with all relevant parties on new launches, seasonal events and public holidays
  • Provide daily production and carcase schedules (including drafts) to relevant stakeholders
  • Manage the coordination of boning the appropriate livestock for the appropriate market
  • Provide detailed daily, weekly & monthly reports as required

Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory is an export meat processing facility, based in the South Burnett Region and is ideally located just 2 - 3 hours’ drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. Swickers has been in operation in Kingaroy for over 50 years and today employs approximately 850 employees.

As part of the Sunpork Group, Swickers is a state-of-the-art processing facility specialising solely in the production of fresh pork and distributing it widely across Australia and internationally. Swickers processes 95% of all Queensland’s pork production, including the production of various pork value-add products for consumers worldwide. Swickers is the largest Australian owned pork processor and continues to be a market leader in pork production.

A role that works across the SunPork Group to complete activities relating to product planning and procurement activities such as, livestock procurement, production planning and scheduling and technical equipment procurement. An individual contributor role that requires some form of specialised skills or qualifications in order to perform the role. Work is performed with limited supervision and there can be a significant degree of automony in how work can be completed.
