Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a People and Culture Partner for a public sector client in the Macquarie Park area of Sydney. You will deliver practical HR advisory to divisional leaders on performance, conduct, wellbeing and grievances, aligned with internal policies and industrial requirements.

You will support workforce planning through insights, escalate complex matters when needed, and coach leaders to foster inclusive, respectful workplaces while guiding change and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience as HR advisory, business partnering or similar role.
• Strong understanding of public sector policies and compliance is desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to analyse data and provide strategic recommendations.
• Commitment to an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
• Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee performance, conduct, wellbeing, and grievance cases in line with policies, legislation, and industrial requirements, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
• Provide clear, practical advice to leaders on disciplinary processes, return-to-work plans, and employee support.
• Escalate complex or high-risk matters to senior People and Culture leaders as appropriate.
• Coach leaders to effectively manage team behaviour and foster inclusive, respectful workplaces.
• Support organisational change, including role transitions, redeployment, and workforce adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with case management frameworks and identify opportunities to improve processes and documentation.
• Work closely with senior People and Culture partners to align case management with broader people strategies.
• Share trends, risks, and workforce insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Provide workforce data and analysis to inform planning, engagement, and service delivery.
