Job summary

OPUS TR is seeking a PSCAD Power Systems Engineer to support utility-scale renewable energy and storage projects across the National Electricity Market in Australia. You will grow into leading complex connection and compliance activities for renewable generation, BESS, and hybrid energy systems.

You will lead PSCAD modelling, grid studies, GPS development, and coordination with AEMO, DNSPs, and TNSPs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliant generation assets and successful connection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years' experience in power systems engineering and grid connections.
• Strong modelling capability with PSCAD, PSS/E and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection studies and GPS development.
• Perform PSCAD modelling and regulatory compliance assessments.
• Engage with AEMO, DNSPs and TNSPs throughout project lifecycle.
• Coordinate technical responses to network service providers and regulators.
• Support generator registration and compliance obligations under NER.
• Contribute to commissioning planning and execution.
