Job summary

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to drive grid connection activities for large-scale renewable projects in Australia. You will lead studies, document connections and coordinate with AEMO, DNSPs and project teams across Melbourne or Brisbane, contributing to safe energisation and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in power systems engineering within renewable generation, transmission or distribution.
• Experience with PSSE, PSCAD and/or PowerFactory.
• Experience with AEMO grid connection processes and interactions with DNSPs/TNSPs.
• Knowledge of inverter-based resources including wind, solar and battery energy storage systems.
• Strong technical report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia.
• Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• Current member status as RPEQ and RPEV or eligible for membership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support grid connection activities for utility-scale wind, solar and battery energy storage projects across the full project lifecycle.
• Deliver power system studies, technical assessments and grid connection documentation to support successful connection and compliance outcomes.
• Work closely with AEMO, network service providers, consultants and project teams to navigate connection requirements and technical approvals.
• Provide engineering leadership during commissioning, testing, model validation and energisation activities.
• Support operational assets by resolving power system performance issues and ensuring ongoing compliance with grid obligations.
• Contribute technical expertise to project development, bids and strategic initiatives that support the growth of our renewable energy portfolio.
