Sceggs Darlinghurst in Sydney is seeking a Senior/Principal/Lead Power Systems Engineer to lead grid-connection studies for utility-scale renewable projects across Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM). This high-impact role focuses on grid connection strategies, GPS development, and PSSE/PSCAD modelling, with governance from development through commissioning in a hybrid work setting.

Qualificações

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–15+ years’ experience in power systems engineering (senior/lead).
• Proven experience in grid connection studies and GPS development.
• Strong knowledge of PSSE and PSCAD.
• Solid understanding of AEMO processes, NER requirements and NSP frameworks.
• Experience working across multi-stakeholder project environments.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and deliver power system studies including load flow, dynamic (RMS) and EMT modelling (PSSE and PSCAD).
• Develop and negotiate Generator Performance Standards (GPS) and connection applications.
• Define and implement grid connection strategies for complex and hybrid renewables.
• Manage AEMO generator registration processes (R1 & R2) and deliverables.
• Oversee concept design development and provide balance-of-plant electrical input.
• Support or lead commissioning activities, hold point testing and model validation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Engage with key stakeholders including AEMO, NSPs, OEMs and project developers.
• Advise clients on regulatory requirements, rule changes and ongoing compliance under the NEM.
