Job summary

Housing Choices Australia is seeking a Property Coordinator to support strategic objectives and improve operational effectiveness across our portfolio. You will coordinate end-to-end maintenance and provide admin support to the property team and broader organisation.

You will manage maintenance workflows, liaise with tenants and contractors, and ensure data accuracy while identifying opportunities to streamline processes. This role values a collaborative, service-focused approach.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency.
  • Experience handling phone-based client conversations.
  • Experience processing work orders, purchase orders and invoices.
  • Proven track record in public/community housing or related sector.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, strategy, management or housing.
  • Ability to support change and deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end maintenance requests for a portfolio of properties.
  • Manage maintenance workflows, purchase orders, invoices and contractor payments.
  • Coordinate cyclical and routine property maintenance to meet legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate property data, reports and records; identify system improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to achieve outcomes.

Job Description

How you'll make an impact

To apply professional expertise within the function of Property Coordinator supporting the implementation of strategic objectives and enhancing operational effectiveness across Housing Choices Australia as appropriate.

The Property Coordinator will provide specialist expertise in coordinating the end-to-end process of routine and cyclical maintenance requests for a specific portfolio of properties and undertake administrative duties to support the role, property team and greater Housing Choices Australia as appropriate.

Your role in action

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by coordinating maintenance requests and resolving property-related enquiries for tenants and stakeholders.
  • Manage maintenance workflows, purchase orders, invoices and contractor payments, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Coordinate cyclical and routine property maintenance activities to meet legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate property data, reports and records while identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to achieve operational outcomes and support HCA's strategic objectives.
Desired Skills and Experience

You will have:

  • Intermediate to Advance skills in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
  • Experience or ability to handle challenging conversations and clients over the phone.
  • Experience processing work orders, purchase orders and invoices.
  • Proven experience and successful track record in a comparable role or discipline(s) in the public/community, private housing sector or transferable sector
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, strategy, management, community housing, property development or equivalent experience
  • Capacity to support change and innovation and deliver creative and leading practice solutions

You must agree to undergo any required employment screening, including but not limited to a National Criminal History or Police Check, Working with Children or Vulnerable Persons Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
