Job summary

The NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is seeking a Project Officer Marine Estate to support projects protecting NSW's marine environment. You will assist with planning, stakeholder engagement, communications, research and reporting.

You will work with communities and government agencies to deliver informed environmental outcomes and support decision making, with travel across NSW as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting projects and delivering outcomes in a busy environment.
  • Strong written communication skills to prepare reports and materials.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders and building relationships.
  • Knowledge of natural resource management or environmental management fields.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience analysing information and applying sound judgement.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel.

Job description

  • Location: Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations. Preference will be given to candidates based regionally, with a focus on Queanbeyan, Armidale, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour
  • Clerk Grade 5/6 – Salary from $102,936 up to $113,579 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading
About The Role

As Project Officer Marine Estate, you will support projects that help protect and manage NSW's marine environment for future generations. Working across a range of marine estate, marine park and aquatic reserve initiatives, you'll assist with project planning, stakeholder engagement, communications, research and reporting activities. This is a varied role where you'll work with communities, government agencies and project teams to help deliver informed environmental outcomes and support evidence-based decision making.

About You
  • Experience supporting projects and delivering outcomes in a busy environment
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare quality reports and materials
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders and building productive relationships
  • Knowledge of natural resource management, environmental management or related fields
