Job summary

Davies Ross Consulting Pty Ltd – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a Design & Development Project Manager to lead design-focused projects in Build to Rent and commercial fit-out. You’ll work with the Senior Development Manager across design, product, cost and delivery, with options for full-time or 3–4 days per week.

This is a design-forward PM role, requiring strong commercial awareness and delivery experience. The role spans design development, cost management, leasing considerations and construction

Project Manager – Design & Development | Sydney

Job Summary

Join an established independent Project Management consultancy in a design-focused role across Build to Rent and commercial fit-out projects. Working closely with a Senior Development Manager, you’ll have exposure across design, product, cost and delivery, with flexibility for either a full-time or 3–4 day working arrangement.

The Opportunity

They’re looking for a Project Manager to work closely with a Senior Development Manager across a portfolio of Build to Rent and commercial projects.

This is a particularly design-focused PM position. You’ll support projects across design development, product decisions, cost management, leasing considerations and construction delivery.

You’ll need a good eye for design while understanding how those decisions affect buildability, cost and the overall commercial outcome.

The role could suit someone from a Project Management, Design Management, architecture/interiors or design-led construction background who has developed strong commercial and delivery knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate architects, designers and specialist consultants

• Support product development and leasing strategy
• Manage programmes, actions, budgets and project reporting

About You

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous Project Management, Development Management or Design Management experience
• Strong design coordination capability and a genuine eye for detail
• Residential, BTR, commercial or hospitality experience advantageous
• Good understanding of construction methodology and project delivery
• Strong commercial and cost awareness
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Confident stakeholder and consultant management skills
• Proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach

The client is open-minded on background. Someone coming from architecture, design management or a design-led builder could be equally relevant if they have strong project delivery and commercial awareness.
