Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a $40M boutique class 2 development in Sydney's inner West. You will take responsibility for delivery, safety, on-time completion and quality across two projects in Cremorne and Marrickville.

You will lead site, commercial and delivery teams, manage budgets and procurement, and liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful handover and long-term client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in Australian construction.
• Strong background delivering residential, commercial or mixed-use projects.
• Excellent programming, planning and organisational capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead multiple project teams and coordinate subcontractors.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join a respected Sydney builder and take responsibility for overseeing a $40M boutique class 2 development in Sydney's inner West. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, ensuring it is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role will suit a capable Project Manager who is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and leading separate project teams while maintaining strong commercial and operational oversight.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall responsibility for the delivery of two construction projects in Cremorne and Marrickville
• Leading and coordinating site, commercial and project delivery teams across both projects
• Developing, managing and monitoring construction programs and key milestones
• Maintaining control of project budgets, forecasting and commercial performance
• Overseeing procurement, subcontractor negotiations and contract administration
• Managing consultants, subcontractors, clients and key project stakeholders
• Coordinating design development and resolving construction and buildability challenges
• Identifying project risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies
• Monitoring site progress, productivity and quality across both projects
• Maintaining high standards of WHS, quality assurance and compliance
• Providing regular project reporting and updates to senior management
• Driving projects through practical completion, defects and final handover

About You

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the Australian construction industry
• Strong background delivering residential, commercial or mixed-use construction projects
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contracts, procurement and cost control
• Excellent programming, planning and organisational capabilities
• Proven ability to lead multiple project teams and coordinate subcontractors effectively
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions
