Job summary

Gough Recruitment in Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to own cross-disciplinary construction projects from pre-construction through to handover. You will coordinate clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to achieve on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires leadership, strong commercial acumen, and a collaborative, proactive approach to drive project success in a fast-growing construction business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction project management experience.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a growing construction business delivering high-quality projects across Sydney. This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams.
The successful candidate will be a proven project leader with strong commercial acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a track record of delivering construction projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle from planning and procurement through to completion and handover.
• Lead project teams and coordinate consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
• Drive strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact throughout project delivery.
• Monitor project performance and implement strategies to achieve programme and financial objectives.
• Manage contract administration, variations, claims, and commercial outcomes.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to project staff.

About You

• Degree qualified in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of construction project management experience.
• Proven experience delivering commercial, industrial, fit-out, residential, or mixed-use projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract administration, and project controls.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead multiple workstreams and make sound commercial decisions.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a collaborative and proactive approach.
