Job summary

MAX Build is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Class 2 remedial projects across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. You will manage programme, budget, quality and safety, while coordinating site teams, subcontractors and consultants on occupied residential buildings.

With strong commercial acumen and a proactive approach to risk management, you will ensure high-quality outcomes and effective communication with strata managers, owners’ corporations and residents.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Project Manager role within the construction industry.
• Demonstrated experience delivering remedial works on Class 2 residential buildings, ideally in Queensland.
• Strong technical knowledge of remedial construction, including concrete repairs, waterproofing, façade remediation and building defect rectification.
• Proven ability to manage projects from commencement through to handover, balancing programme, cost, quality and safety requirements.
• Experience leading site teams and managing subcontractor performance, procurement and sequencing.

You will be working for an established, privately owned and growing head contractor who are multi-faceted across the Remedial, Multi-Residential and Commercial sectors. We are proudly certified as a Great Place to Work in Australia.

MAX Build finds solutions to complex remedial challenges, delivering major remediation projects, high-rise façade maintenance and refurbishment works, and building adaptations and upgrades.

With established operations in New South Wales and a growing presence in Queensland, this role will be based in Queensland, delivering remedial projects across Class 2 residential buildings in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The Role

MAX Build is an expanding remedial construction company searching for an experienced Project Manager to join the team and support the growth of our Queensland operations.

The successful candidate will manage Class 2 remedial projects from commencement through to completion, taking responsibility for programme, budget, quality, safety and client satisfaction. You will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors and consultants, and manage procurement, contract administration and project reporting.

Working closely with clients, strata managers, owners' corporations and residents, you will ensure works are delivered efficiently, with clear communication and careful management of the challenges associated with occupied residential buildings.

This role will suit someone with strong commercial acumen, hands-on remedial construction experience and a proactive approach to managing project risks, solving problems and achieving high-quality outcomes.

You will have:

• Experience managing project budgets, forecasting costs and maintaining profitability
• A solid understanding of contract administration, including variations, progress claims, extensions of time and contractual notice requirements
• Experience leading site teams and managing subcontractor performance, procurement and sequencing
• Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications, engineering reports and contract documentation
• Knowledge of relevant Queensland building requirements, WHS obligations and quality assurance processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with strata managers, owners' corporations and residents in occupied buildings
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project risks
