Job summary

JRG Recruitment is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead Class 2 remedial building projects across Sydney from the Homebush base. The role reports to the Director, oversees project delivery, budgets, programs, quality and safety, and mentors Project Managers and site teams on a portfolio of technically challenging remedial works valued from $5M to $40M.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience within the Remedial Building industry.
• Strong Class 2 remedial building experience and knowledge.
• Proven experience delivering multiple remedial building projects from commencement through to completion.
• Strong understanding of concrete remediation, spalling/concrete cancer, waterproofing, façade upgrades, balcony remediation, structural repairs and strengthening.
• Proven ability to lead and support Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and site teams.
• Strong commercial understanding, including budgets, forecasting, variations, EOTs, procurement and project profitability.
• Strong client, consultant, strata manager and subcontractor relationship skills.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to construction and site issues.
• Strong understanding of WHS, NSW legislation, Australian Standards and construction compliance.
• NSW Builders Licence / Qualified Supervisor Certificate

Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of multiple Class 2 remedial building projects across Sydney from commencement through to completion.
• Lead, manage and support Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and site teams.
• Take overall responsibility for project performance, budgets, programs, quality and safety.
• Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve construction, site and project issues to keep projects on track.
• Manage and review variations, EOTs, subcontractors, procurement and commercial outcomes.
• Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, costs, margins and profitability.
• Provide technical and operational support across concrete remediation, remediation of concrete cancer, waterproofing, façade upgrades, balcony remediation, structural repairs and strengthening.
• Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, strata managers, subcontractors, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
• Assist with project planning, resource allocation, procurement and construction methodology.
• Review project programs and ensure key milestones and contractual requirements are achieved.
• Support the Project Management team with commercial, contractual and construction-related matters.
• Work closely with the Director and Senior Management Team on operational, commercial and project delivery matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, efficiency, quality and profitability.
• Ensure all projects comply with WHS requirements, NSW legislation, Australian Standards and company procedures.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and support to Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and construction personnel.
• Hold and maintain a NSW Builders Licence / Qualified Supervisor Certificate, providing additional licence capability and support to the Director when required. The Director will remain the company's nominated supervisor and Builders Licence holder.

NSW Construction Manager (Remedial Building)

Are you an experienced Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager or Project Manager with strong Class 2 remedial building experience and ready to take the next step in your career?
Our client is one of Australia's most respected Class 2 remedial builders, with more than 50 years of industry success and offices across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join their Sydney team, based from their Homebush office.
This is a senior construction role focused on the successful delivery of multiple Class 2 remedial building projects across Sydney, while providing leadership, technical support and guidance to the Project Management and construction teams.
The Role
Based from the Homebush office, you'll work closely with the Director and Senior Management Team, taking responsibility for construction delivery across a portfolio of technically challenging Class 2 remedial building projects.
Projects range from approximately $5M to $40M, covering a broad range of remedial and structural repair works across Sydney.
You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, commercially and to a high standard, while supporting and developing the existing Project Management and site teams.
Key Responsibilities

About You
We're looking for an experienced construction professional with strong builder-side Class 2 remedial building experience who can take ownership of construction delivery across Sydney.
You may currently be working in Remedial Building as a:

• Construction Manager
• Senior Project Manager
• Project Manager ready to step into a Construction Manager role
• Remedial Building Manager

We are not considering applicants from outside of the Class 2 Remedial Building Industry - This includes insurance builders, refurb, new build.

You'll need:

• 10+ years' experience within the Remedial Building industry

This position would suit an experienced Senior Project Manager within the Class 2 remedial building industry who is ready to take the next step into a Construction Manager position, provided they have the required NSW Builders Licence / Qualified Supervisor Certificate.

Class 2 Remedial Building experience and a NSW Builders Licence (Qualified Supervisor Certificate) are both essential requirements for this role.
