Job summary

CGC Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer for a short-term gun-for-hire role in South Brisbane. You will lead day-to-day project engineering and support the delivery of sewer mains, pump stations and rising mains on brownfield utilities projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years post-graduate engineering experience in water and wastewater, with a hands-on, autonomous approach and experience with Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractors. Start is 28 September 2026 for approx. 8 weeks, with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate engineering experience with a focus on water or wastewater projects.
• Demonstrated work in brownfield environments on large utilities schemes.
• In-depth knowledge of sewer, pump stations and rising mains.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day project engineering and construction support.
• Contribute to delivery of sewer mains, pump stations and rising mains.
• Support brownfield utility infrastructure activities on site.

Available now? We\'re looking for a gun-for-hire Project Engineer to hit the ground running.

Southside Brisbane

Start: 28 September 2026

Approx. 8 weeks

Hourly rate | PAYG or Pty Ltd

What we\'re looking for

• 5+ years post-graduate engineering experience
• Strong Water & Wastewater project experience
• Proven experience working in a brownfield environment
• Experience with sewer, pump station and rising main projects
• Previous experience with a Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractor
• Experience working for contractors who self-perform their works
• Strong construction and delivery knowledge
• The ability to operate autonomously and make things happen
• A practical, hands-on approach rather than being purely office-based
