Job summary

SRG Global is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Utilities division in Queensland. The role focuses on delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects, with long-term career progression in a high-performing team.

The ideal candidate has a Civil or Mechanical Engineering background and 4+ years of project management experience in construction. This permanent role offers stability and opportunities across regional Southeast Queensland.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 4+ years Project Management experience in Civil, Utilities and Water Infrastructure projects desirable.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder liaison ability.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure cost-effective construction methodologies and identify improvement areas.
  • Track project finances, review costs vs. budget, and highlight margin impacts.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and teams to resolve technical, commercial, and scheduling issues.
  • Understand project scope and identify contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare variations, claims, and subcontract agreements.
  • Plan procurement activities, organise labour and equipment for supervisors.
  • Ensure materials and services meet QA requirements.
  • Develop ITPs/ITCs, monitor quality plans, and ensure compliance.
  • Assess risks, implement hazard controls, and support incident investigations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through pre-starts and toolbox talks.
  • Review CEMP and environmental procedures before work begins.
  • Maintain QA documentation, manage project closeout, and finalize defect claims.

SRG Global are seeking an experienced and driven Project Engineer to join our Utilities division. With several water and wastewater treatment projects moving into delivery across regional South East Queensland, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil or Mechanical Engineering background, with demonstrated experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure, treatment plants or similar facilities. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, genuine career progression and the chance to work as part of a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management
  • 4+ years Project Management experience in the Construction Industry (Civil, Utilities and Water Infrastructure projects highly desirable).
  • Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with people at all levels, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Ability to adapt and be reacting to change, and to plan accordingly
  • Sound skills in using Microsoft Office software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Pass a pre-employment medical and D&A
