Job summary

Sydney Pile Cages is seeking a project engineer/engineering coordinator to take ownership of orders from award to final delivery at our Blacktown office. This role focuses on client liaison, program adherence, and ensuring cage production aligns with the piling schedule.

You will read structural drawings, manage RFIs and variations, and coordinate with production and logistics to keep projects on time and on budget. A piling background and strong Excel skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a site engineer, project engineer or engineering coordinator in piling, civil or structures
• Degree in civil, structural or construction engineering (or equivalent site experience)
• Hands-on familiarity with piling cages and reinforcement details
• Ability to read structural drawings, reinforcement details and project specifications
• Clear written communication for RFIs, variations and client correspondence

Responsibilities

• Primary contact for clients from order award through to delivery and documentation handover
• Coordinate with scheduling to ensure cages are detailed correctly and approvals closed on time
• Plan production and delivery sequences with production and logistics to suit the client's piling program
• Manage revisions, variations and site instructions, including cost and program impact
• Track order budgets and tonnage, and report progress against forecast
• Coordinate ITPs, conformance records, mill certificates and ACRS documentation
• Maintain a live look-ahead of upcoming work across projects

Job description

This is the step up from site engineering into project engineering and the step off site. You own the order from award to final delivery. You are the client's point of contact and the person inside the business who makes sure what they were promised turns up: on program, to specification, on budget. This is a full-time, office-based role at Blacktown, Monday to Friday, with client meetings as required. It is not a site role and it is not a design role.

Key responsibilities

• Primary contact for clients from order award through to delivery and documentation handover
• Working with scheduling team so cages are detailed correctly, RFIs raised early and approvals closed on time
• Planning production and delivery sequences with production and logistics to suit the client's piling program
• Managing revisions, variations and site instructions, including cost and program impact
• Tracking order budgets and tonnage, and reporting progress against forecast
• Coordinating ITPs, conformance records, mill certificates and ACRS documentation
• Keeping a live look-ahead of upcoming work across your projects

About you

• 3+ years as a site engineer, project engineer or engineering coordinator with a piling, civil or structures contractor — piling background strongly preferred
• Degree in civil, structural or construction engineering (or equivalent site experience)
• Hands-on familiarity with bored and CFA piles, reinforcement cages and what goes wrong with them
• Ability to read structural drawings, reinforcement details and project specifications
• Strong Excel — tonnage, program and budget all have to reconcile
• Clear written communication for RFIs, variation notices and client correspondence
• The organisation to run multiple live orders without dropping one
• Driver's licence and White Card
• Current unrestricted working rights in Australia
