Job summary

Amida Group in Sydney is seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Contracts Administrator to join their professional team on blue-chip commercial office fit-out and refurb projects up to $15m+. This permanent role offers progression within a leading national contractor.

You'll manage procurement, subcontract administration, cost control and project coordination from conversion to handover, ensuring safety, quality and profitability while meeting client expectations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction or similar.
• 4–7+ years’ experience in construction industry; tier 1–3 background ideal.
• Construction Safety Induction (White) card.
• Strong financial analysis and administrative focus.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check subcontract packages
• Negotiate and review subcontract tenders
• Produce and maintain a procurement schedule that matches the program
• Preparation of accurate payment schedules
• Process progress / delay claims and external variations according to contractual obligations and timelines
• Prepare and issue draft progress reports for clients on a monthly basis
• Set up and maintain job files, drawing and contract registers, sample boards and shop drawing registers
• Assist in management and tracking of project expenditure against budget
• Oversee financial management, planning and programming
• Conduct regular programme and internal project audits
• Manage dispute resolution between both the client and subcontractors
• Review and improve construction methodologies
• Supervise the induction and development of project based staff, ensuring regular performance feedback occurs
• Ensure industrial relations issues are resolved and industrial arrangements are up to date
• Management of subcontractors to delivery project within time, quality, safety and budget
