Job summary

Wilder Fox is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team in New South Wales. The role focuses on fast-paced interior fitout and construction projects valued above 300–2000 square metres, collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure quality, safety and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in a related field and has at least 5 years in fitout projects, with strong knowledge of construction methods and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5 years fitout experience required.
• Experience with large-scale commercial projects and construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination and execution of fast-paced fitout/construction projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors and clients to meet plans and budgets.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to meet milestones.
• Manage RFIs, change orders, submittals and construction drawings.
• Conduct site visits to ensure safety, quality and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and resolve engineering challenges.
• Maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and regulatory authorities.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends to drive improvements.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Project Engineer to join their dynamic team. As the Project Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of account projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contractors, and clients to ensure the highest quality construction, adherence to timelines, and adherence to safety standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fast paced fitout/ construction projects, specialising in sizes exceeding 300 - 2000 square meters.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are executed in accordance with plans, specifications, and established budgets.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and proactively implement solutions to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Manage project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, submittals, and construction drawings.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, resolving engineering-related challenges as they arise.
• Foster positive working relationships with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, construction methods, and technologies to drive continuous improvement in project execution.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proven experience in project engineering or management within the construction industry, with a focus on large-scale commercial fitout projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
