Davies Ross Consulting Pty Ltd – Sydney CBD NSW
An opportunity has become available for an ambitious Site Engineer / Project Engineer who wants to step up and join the delivery team on a technically challenging, high-end mixed use Project in North West Sydney. This job could also suit a Project Manager delivering smaller jobs and wants to get into bigger projects.
Join a well-resourced, entirely site-based delivery team comprising a Senior Project Manager, Senior Site Manager, Project Engineer (This Role), Site Engineer, Senior Contracts Administrator, Contracts Administrator, x2 Site Supervisors and associated labour.
Work directly under one of Sydney’s most recognised Project Managers on projects sub $100M, who will invest time in your development and help you progress.
Genuine scope to take on greater responsibility as you establish yourself within the team.
Big-project exposure without joining a traditional Tier 2 environment where you risk becoming another number.
Join a growing, financially stable contractor with the systems and capability to deliver major projects while retaining a close-knit, supportive culture.
Gain long-term career opportunities across the commercial, Aged Care, Industrial and Institutional sectors.
Minimal Saturday work, an immediate start if desired and the opportunity to help drive the project from commencement through to completion.
Work within a business that hires for attitude and potential not simply the size or value of projects listed on your resume
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will initially take responsibility as a 2iC on the project, with your remit expanding as you progress.
The facility comprises one tower across 12 floors and x2 floor basement. This is an exceptionally high end project involving mixed use facilities on a logistically challenged site. Given the client, location and nature of the build, it is likely to become an award-winning project and one you will be proud to put your name to.
The business is open minded about project size and is looking for someone who can be developed within the role to become their next project manager. Major project experience is therefore not essential but you will demonstrate longevity to employers in your resume and have a track record of delivering projects from start to finish. A genuine passion for building, a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn are important.
The project was negotiated through an ECI process, and the company Director has partnered with this repeat client for more than a decade. The business does not win work solely on price, nor does it rely on contractual disputes or squeezing subcontractors. Relationships, quality and the long-term outcome of the project take priority.
Having recruited within Sydney’s construction industry for more than 15 years my client demonstrates an average tenure of 5+ years which is very rare and reflects them being an employer of choice.
Its culture and team environment genuinely set it apart. There are no gimmicks and no arrogance just professionally capable people who are passionate about building well and supporting one another.
The business is financially stable, has an excellent credit rating and continues to grow organically. Competitive tendering does not form part of its business model, and their revenue of its annual workload comes from repeat clients.
It takes a non-litigious, relationship focused approach and has developed lasting partnerships with clients and subcontractors. The company also uses industry leading systems and genuinely understands the demands placed on site based staff in the industry.
Its project capability includes:
New-build construction projects valued between $10 million and $75 million.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally demonstrate:
Experience working on commercial construction projects in Australia.
Stability and loyalty throughout your employment history.
A genuine desire to learn, develop and progress with one business.
Experience delivering New Build projects regardless of size
The ability to work collaboratively and recognise that individual success depends on the support of the broader project team.
Experience contributing to commercial projects from commencement through to completion.
Strong references from previous employers and project leaders.
A trade or Construction degree background
