Job summary

Transport For NSW is seeking a Project Interface Specialist for Macquarie Park, NSW. This permanent full-time role focuses on deploying and evaluating emerging infrastructure technologies across multi-modal transport projects, coordinating between technology teams, vendors and project delivery teams.

You will drive agile proof-of-concept trials, report outcomes, and translate technical concepts into practical business value for diverse stakeholders across Transport.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a specialist team responsible for the rapid deployment, piloting, evaluation and integration of emerging infrastructure technologies across multi-modal transport projects.
• Manage the interface between the infrastructure technology team, project delivery teams, technology vendors, industry partners and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate agile technology proof-of-concept trials and pilot programs, ensuring successful planning, execution, evaluation and reporting.
• Engage with project teams to identify opportunities where emerging technologies can address business challenges and improve project outcomes.
• Support the implementation of innovative solutions across areas such as digital engineering, AI, reality capture, robotics, drones, automation and advanced analytics.
• Translate complex technical concepts into practical business outcomes and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capture lessons learned, implementation considerations, benefits and risks to assess opportunities for broader deployment across Transport.
• Contribute to procurement activities, vendor engagement and technology assessments to support informed investment decisions.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement by challenging conventional approaches and identifying new opportunities to improve infrastructure delivery and asset management outcomes.

In this role, you will help bridge the gap between project delivery teams and innovative technology solutions, ensuring new capabilities are successfully integrated and deliver measurable business value.

You will play a key role in introducing and implementing emerging technologies within a dynamic, fast-paced environment involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and diverse project lifecycle stages.

• Your project management, stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills enable you to coordinate complex initiatives and build productive relationships across project teams, government agencies, industry partners, technology vendors and service providers.
• You have experience introducing, implementing or evaluating technology solutions in project, operational or infrastructure environments.
• You understand how to translate business challenges into technology opportunities and can communicate technical concepts in a clear and practical manner.
• You are recognised as a proactive and collaborative professional who can influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
• You have experience working across multiple projects simultaneously and balancing competing priorities while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• You are confident taking ownership and managing a broad range of responsibilities including project coordination, stakeholder management, procurement activities, technology implementation and benefits tracking.
• You have a genuine interest in emerging technologies and their practical application across infrastructure projects, including digital engineering, AI, reality capture, robotics, drones, automation and advanced analytics.
• You thrive in a test-and-learn environment and are comfortable challenging conventional approaches, learning from setbacks and adapting as business needs and technology solutions evolve.
