Job Description Project Engineer – High Voltage & Data Centre Infrastructure Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Project Engineer to join a specialist consultancy delivering high voltage (HV) and data centre infrastructure projects for some of Australia's leading digital infrastructure and utility clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile, live data centre builds with renowned clients, contributing to cutting-edge projects in a rapidly growing industry.

Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer, you will:

• Provide day-to-day electrical engineering support across live HV and data centre construction projects.
• Collaborate with the construction and delivery teams on switchboard and power systems scope, from design review through to installation and testing.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and the client’s technical team to ensure works are completed on schedule and meet specifications.
• Support HV testing and commissioning activities, including documentation and quality sign-off.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and method statements, identifying risks or clashes early.
• Contribute to progress reporting, technical queries, and change management on-site.
• Champion safety and quality standards across all engineering activities.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Solid experience working with high voltage electrical systems.
• A strong electrical engineering background, with hands-on exposure to switchboards and power systems.
• Construction project experience, particularly in mining, industrial, or heavy infrastructure environments (highly valued).
• A collaborative approach and the confidence to work directly with construction, project, and commissioning teams.
• Exposure to data centre projects (preferred but not essential). A strong technical foundation and the drive to grow are what matter most.
