Job summary

Davidson partners with a major Queensland Government infrastructure organisation to appoint experienced Project Directors to support a significant transport infrastructure program on the Sunshine Coast.

We are seeking accomplished senior leaders who can provide strategic and tactical leadership across complex infrastructure projects, work packages or program functions. Engineering credentials and RPEQ registration may be required for some assignments; a current White Card is required.

Project Director - Major Transport Infrastructure

Davidson is partnering with a major Queensland Government infrastructure organisation to appoint experienced Project Directors to support the delivery of a significant transport infrastructure program on the Sunshine Coast.
This is an opportunity to join a major, long-term program bringing together civil infrastructure, transport systems, operations, integration and program-wide governance.

The Opportunity

We are seeking accomplished senior leaders who can provide strategic and tactical leadership across complex infrastructure projects, work packages or program functions.
Importantly, this is not a search for one narrowly defined background. The program is looking for calibre first, then role fit, with the successful candidates' experience and strengths helping determine where they can add the greatest value.
Potential areas of responsibility may include:

• Client-side project and infrastructure delivery
• Major civil infrastructure and work packages
• Alliance and collaborative delivery environments
• Program management, governance and assurance
• Operations, maintenance and operational readiness
• Commercial, contracts, procurement and program controls

What You'll Do

Depending on your eventual assignment, you will:

• Lead multidisciplinary teams, advisors, consultants and delivery partners
• Drive outcomes across scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety and risk
• Navigate complex project, contractual and stakeholder interfaces
• Provide strategic, commercial, technical and delivery advice
• Establish effective governance, assurance and decision-making pathways
• Represent the organisation across negotiations and senior stakeholder forums
• Identify and resolve complex delivery, engineering, commercial and organisational issues
• Maintain a strong focus on accountability, value for money and successful project outcomes

About You

You will bring senior leadership experience from complex, high-value infrastructure, transport, construction, engineering, operations or comparable major-program environments.
Your background may be with government, a major infrastructure owner, consultancy, contractor or alliance environment.
We are particularly interested in leaders who can operate confidently in ambiguity, bring together multiple disciplines and stakeholders, and translate complex program requirements into clear decisions and delivery outcomes.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional credentials will be highly regarded. Engineering qualifications and RPEQ registration may be required for some assignments, depending on the responsibilities of the position.
A current White Card is required.

The Details

Location: Sunshine Coast, Queensland, with flexible working arrangements and travel to project and stakeholder locations as required
Contract: 2 years, with potential for extension
Hours: Up to 38 hours per week
