Job summary

Kingston Human Capital is partnering with a major Queensland transport program to recruit two Project Directors to lead tactical and operational delivery across planning, procurement, integration and delivery for Wave Stage 3 (Metro) and MRI. Job description

We are seeking two highly capable Project Directors to lead the tactical and operational delivery of this significant program across planning, procurement, integration and delivery.

About the role

In this role as Project Director, you will provide leadership and tactical direction across both the Wave Stage 3 (Metro) and Mooloolah River Interchange (MRI) Program.

You will establish clear delivery priorities, mobilise high-performing multidisciplinary teams, manage complex interfaces and risk, and provide trusted advice and assurance to senior program leadership and governance forums. This is an opportunity to operate at the centre of a complex major infrastructure environment where strong leadership and the ability to bring clarity to challenging delivery issues will be critical.

Potential Areas of Responsibility

• Program Management Unit – governance and assurance, commercial and compliance, program controls, client-side outcomes, interfaces and integration.
• Civil Infrastructure Program – client-side delivery, work package development, technical and engineering integration, early works, property, environment, sustainability and cultural heritage.
• Alliance / Owner Participant – owner inputs, governance, delegated decisions, approvals, escalation, assurance and protection of TMR's public-interest obligations.
• Fleet, Operations and Maintenance – delivery, operational readiness, depots, systems, vehicles, asset management and operational integration.
• Specialist Program Leadership – commercial, contracts, procurement, stakeholder engagement, government relations, community, communications, social outcomes, safety, risk, schedule, cost, change or information management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development, procurement, delivery, integration and/or operational readiness of significant program functions, projects or work packages.
• Translate strategic program objectives into clear priorities, delivery plans, accountabilities and measurable outcomes.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams while coordinating specialists, advisors, consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
• Monitor performance across scope, time, cost, quality, safety, risk, sustainability, stakeholder and service outcomes.
• Make timely and well-informed decisions within delegated authority and elevate significant issues with clear options and recommendations.
• Manage complex interfaces across projects, contracts, operational stakeholders, government agencies, local government, communities and delivery partners.
• Identify and resolve complex delivery, engineering, commercial, organisational and stakeholder issues.
• Represent TMR in senior negotiations, governance forums and stakeholder engagements where required.

About You

• Previous experience in a Project Director or Senior Director position.
• Significant senior leadership experience across major projects or programs, with accountability for delivery outcomes, people, risk and stakeholder confidence.
• High-value infrastructure, transport, construction and engineering capability.
• Strong project, program, commercial and contract management capability.
• Experience working within complex, collaborative or alternative delivery models, including Alliances, where relevant.
• The ability to quickly understand complex environments, identify root causes and translate ambiguity into clear actions and decisions.
• Strong judgement, integrity and resilience within high-pressure, politically and commercially complex environments.
• Exceptional communication, influencing and negotiation capability across executive, technical, commercial, government and community stakeholders.
• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to work across organisational and contractual boundaries while maintaining clear owner accountability.
• Demonstrated success establishing and leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality, risk management, assurance, value for money and accountable decision-making.
• Four Year - Bachelor of Engineering
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).

What this role offers you

• Initial 2-year contract + potential 2 x 12 month extension
• Up to $118 per Hour + 12% Superannuation
• 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
